Salak (White, Seedling) Fruit Plant

Salak (Salacca zalacca) is a species of palm tree in the Arecaceae family, native to Java and Sumatra in Indonesia. It is a very short-stemmed palm with long leaves that can reach up to 6 meters (20 ft) in length.

Fruit Description

The fruits grow in clusters at the base of the palm and are commonly known as “snake fruit” due to their reddish-brown, scaly skin. Each fruit is about the size and shape of a ripe fig with a distinct pointed tip. The edible pulp inside can be accessed by gently pinching the tip, which allows the skin to peel away easily.
