Chempedak (Budded) Fruit Plant

Cempedak is a medium to large evergreen tree that typically grows 10–20 meters tall, although under ideal conditions it can reach up to 30 meters. The tree is monoecious, producing both male and female flowers on the same plant, and is capable of bearing heavy fruit crops once or twice each year.

The fruits closely resemble Jackfruit, but are generally smaller, with a thinner stalk, deep golden-yellow flesh, and a sweeter, juicier texture. Renowned for its rich aroma and delicious tropical flavor, Cempedak is highly prized for fresh consumption and culinary use.

The tree thrives in warm, humid tropical climates and grows best in deep, fertile, humus-rich, slightly acidic, well-drained soils. While it can tolerate occasional waterlogging, it performs exceptionally well in deep alluvial soils with good moisture retention. Adequate sunlight and regular rainfall encourage vigorous growth and abundant fruit production.
