Acai Berry (Seedling) Fruit Plant

Acai berry is the fruit of a palm species belonging to the Arecaceae family. The plant is widely used not only for its fruit but also for hearts of palm, leaves, and wood. It is native to the swampy and floodplain regions of South America, including Brazil, Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia, Guyana, French Guiana, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago.

The plant produces small, round fruits about 1–2 cm in diameter. The berries are deep purple in color, and the seed makes up the majority of the fruit (around 80%). Because of the tough outer layer, the fruit is typically soaked or processed before consumption.

Acai palm trees are naturally adapted to floodplain environments and thrive in humid tropical conditions.
