Palilo (Seedling) Fruit Plant

Palilo is a fruit plant closely allied to guava, typically growing into a small to medium-sized tree reaching about 20 to 30 feet in height. It is known for its aromatic foliage and fragrant fruit.

The leaves emit a scent similar to myrtle and have an acidic, astringent taste when crushed or tasted. The plant produces bright yellow fruits that are roughly apple-sized and highly fragrant.

The fruit is traditionally used in making a pleasant-smelling perfume known as mistura, valued for its natural fragrance.

Growing Conditions

The plant prefers moderate sunlight exposure, growing best in partially sunny conditions rather than full, intense direct sun.
