Marang (Artocarpus Odoratissimus) Fruit Plant

Marang (Artocarpus odoratissimus), also known as Johey Oak, Madang, Terap, or the Breadfruit Cousin, is a rare tropical fruit tree native to Southeast Asia. Closely related to Jackfruit and Breadfruit, Marang is highly valued for its large, aromatic fruits, sweet creamy flesh, and exceptional nutritional benefits.

The tree produces large, oblong fruits measuring up to 12 inches in length. The fruit is known for its pleasant sweet aroma, soft texture, and delicious flavor, making it one of the finest tropical fruits. Harvesting Marang

Mature fruits are harvested carefully by hand or using a harvesting pole fitted with a curved knife. Since the fruits are delicate, they should be handled gently to avoid bruising. Ripe Marang fruits have a short shelf life, so they are best enjoyed fresh soon after harvest.
