Lolly Berry (Chinese Salacia, Seedling) Fruit Plant

Salacia chinensis is a plant species in the family Celastraceae. It is commonly known as Chinese salacia, lolly berry, and saptachakra in Ayurvedic medicine. The species is widely distributed across Southeast Asia and Australoceania.

It typically grows as a climbing shrub, though it may also appear as a scrambling shrub or occasionally take on a more tree-like form. The plant can reach a height of 3–10 meters. It produces small, globose to ovate fruits that are red in color, measuring about 10–25 mm in diameter. Each fruit contains a single seed, with edible pulp surrounding it.

The fruit pulp is consumed locally and is considered edible when ripe.
