Lilly Pilly refers to several species in the Syzygium genus, including Creek Lilly Pilly (Syzygium australe), Syzygium luehmannii, and Syzygium smithii (formerly Acmena smithii). These evergreen trees belong to the Myrtaceae family and are native to Australia. The fruits are commonly known as lilly pilly berries and vary in flavor and texture depending on the species.

The berries are small, typically pink to red, and pear-shaped. They can be eaten fresh or used in culinary preparations such as jams, cordials, sauces, smoothies, and fruit salads. The flavor profile is generally sweet-tart and slightly musky, with complex notes that may resemble clove, cinnamon, pear, cranberry, and apple.
